I suspect this is normal but I want to be sure. When I first installed and opened Parallels it found the Yosemite installer right away and I could have used that or a newer one.

I want to update to Catelina, but want to be sure that my productivity will the the same if I try to run these off of Parallels. I installed the same version of Mojave and the same Adobe CS6 applications, exactly the same versions with all their updates.
Adobe Photoshop CS 6 worked perfectly and was snappy with no lag at all, I was really excited. I tried Illustrator — it crashes the moment to loader starts. InDesign loads much further, but crashes as soon as the desktop app loads with the open file modal. I contact Parallels a few times, and the did a remote test to see if they can get it to work — no luck yet. We did a safe mode reboot of my boot machine, and Illustrator and InDesign worked just fine.
SO no luck there. I agree. I find Mojave to be a lot smoother and more stable than High Sierra. Mojave has been running fine on my unsupported mid MBP. I cannot live without dark mode now!!! What are you using to get macoS Mojave running on your unsupported Mac and was it difficult to configure? Is performance good on? Name required.

I figured perhaps Parallels doesn’t recognise an OS via. Again Parallels didn’t automatically find the OS file so I located manually. This time I got the apple logo and load-up bar screen. I then got the MacOS Utility screen. After selecting ‘install macOS’ and clicking continue it took several minutes to get to the next page. Then I got to the screen where It says select your drive to install.
I was reverted back to the MacOS Utility screen. So now I got past the select your drive to install screen. However, I couldn’t complete the installation. Basically after the blue loading-bar screen I get the initial apple logo screen and then goes back to the MacOS Utility screen. I don’t know if this is an issue with Parallels Desktop 10, the Mojave file I downloaded or something related to compatibility. VirtualBox VirtualBox is free, but you get what you pay for. Works fine for non-macOS operating systems.

I plan on purchasing after my trial. What is that for? It says I can run Windows and hense its apps. The instrallation was easy, but the apps that I installed did not work. They show that they do but there is no actual result. For instance, I used GoPro Fusion Studio app, and it opened the applicaiton but the videos thumnails are all black. So al the stitches videos are just black color.
I also tried other apps related to linguistic corpora that are identical to what I have on my authentic Windows PC. And, again, the Parallels shows you that the app is running but when you output the result, everything is empty. The files occupy space but there is nothting inside. I also intalled Steam and wanted to “TRY” if the games would work. It does not matter who is causing these issue, but as a user, I am not going to troubleshoot any of these. So, it’s a 1 star from me. I absolutely need the ability to have a virtual environment for work and for personal projects.
Having a native solution within OSX is great, having as solution which is fast, has a light footprint, and that gets out of the way is even better! I like Parallels so far I’m currently using a trial and plan to purchase it in the next few days when my trial ends. My only suggestion to the developers is this: Get more support for the M1 chip.
